Johanna is an accomplished writer, Yoga master and a teacher trainer. She has extensive background in education, human resource development and public speaking. All of her life’s learning, accomplishments and skill are now geared to pursuing her passion – sharing the ten principles that will help everyone live in greater peace, harmony and integrity.

Johanna’s first career consisted of twenty-five years as a high school English teacher, staff developer and graduate writing instructor. She earned a BA from Lehman College, an MA from Hunter College, a Professional Diploma in Educational Administration from Fordham University and a PhD from New York University.

Johanna’s extensive Yoga education includes certification as a Kripalu Yoga Instructor and a Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapist, a 500-hour advanced diploma from the International Yoga College and two certificates from the Krishnamacharya Yoga School in India. Johanna is former President of the Arizona Yoga Association and author of YogaLife: 10 Steps to Freedom book, CD set and cards.

In 1992, after earning two licenses to serve as a NYC High School Principal, Johanna left the school system, moved to Sedona, AZ, and camped out for fourteen months. Pursuing her love of Yoga and Sedona’s red rocks, in 1994 Johanna began offering Sedona Spirit Yoga & Hiking Retreats. Recently, Johanna’s retreats were listed #1 of “Ten Inspirational Retreats” recommended in the May 2008 Sunset Magazine. Johanna currently enjoys living and leading self-renewal retreats in two wonderful places – Sedona, AZ and Oceanside, CA.
